Whitout barriers

The program has brought Loviisa embryonic artists and stars with international reputations - painters, designers, professors, poets, composers, sound artist, philosopher etc... Variety has helped bring down the barriers between different art forms and, in fact, diversity has fitted the caracter of the pilot project rather well. A good deal of work has gone into expanding artists exchanges, while discourse and a positive image have been developed as extra bonus.

    It was established in 1994 by four local professional artist and today run part of the town´s international cultural activities. The residency is targeted particularly at Baltic and Nordic artists. The programme has held dozens of exhibitions, lectures and similar events in Loviisa and the surrounding region.
